Three 1/2' inch strands, and a small 3/16 in. strand ) of hair encased in a small ornate double gold guilded frame taken from a lock of George Washington's hair originally obtained from Mrs. Custis L. Powell(adopted daughter of George). Excedingly rare Washington artifact. A facsimile copy of a note circa 1845 indicates the source of the hair. Charles Hamilton world famous expert has authenticated the provenance of this rarity with the visable copy of his signed letter. Charles Hamilton has published 15 books on his expertise. This lot includes 11 pages of Hamilton's certification, including copies to the maker of this ensamble stating, ''I am the terror of the New York courts and nobody willingly faces me as an adversary expert.'' He is known as the world's formost expert on forgeries and fakes. Noted for finding a most famous collection of Hitler diaries to be fakes, that had stumped expert for years. You can be most assured that this is the best authenticator known of all time in this field.
